The campaign is also a great way to familiarize yourself with the gameplay and the interface, because it might be a bit tough to learn everything by jumping directly into a battle.
There's even a campaign mode that takes you through a variety of missions, each one of which is more difficult than the one before it.

The game may try to do too many things at once sometimes, but the overall experience should keep you engaged and entertained, especially since it is always a blast to take full control of a unit and blast your enemies without relying on the AI. WARSHIFT is a real-time strategy game with RPG and shooter elements, in which you get to have a more personal say when it comes to combat, while still being able to command your units like in a classic RTS.
